Pot of Blue

Hi Crafty friends and Followers ...

Here is a new Fad I'm going through...crafting with pots!!

Below is a pot I painted and embellished for Mothers Day 2017, enjoy and I hope you leave me a comments...even tips if you like!!

Some very ordinary pots cleaned and ready to go, My Fiance Brendon had already cut me some hearts on the scroll saw !

After another coat of blue paint I applied a patterned paper napkin with 50/50 water glue added ribbon and blue  glass pebbles ...

next to paint some aluminium can butterflies I have made previously and the Mothers Day heart glued onto a pop stick,painted,add a shell border and letters are cut with my Big Shot a few more Glass pebbles to tie the two together...

2 butterflies some hearts and square gems for the rim

A coating of sealant then potting mix ,plant and we are done!!

Altered Mother's Day Gift Challenge 12

Hi there hope everyones had time for some craft!!!

In-between Gardening Fishing and Drs Appointments sometimes I struggle to make the time ...

But this last week Ive found a project to do which combined gardening and craft!!

My project below is my DT Entry for Challenge 12 over at 

Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog

It's an 'Anything Goes Theme' with a twist being either chipboard, stencils or http://www.papertoleaustralia.com/toppers-die-cut-push-out

For my DT Project I chose to use chipboard - A seagull the swallow and a scroll...

I re purposed a Fruit bowl we had that was too big for our kitchen table - it was just a dust collector on top of the fridge .
Of course its shape screamed BOAT so then my creation began....

First a Flag ...

Hand drawn flag on MDF ...two screws to attach to pole and a coat of primer

I mixed different paints on a roller to create the background then the fun began...

Netting for effect and ropes for stability

Lined with paperbark

Then added soil, plants, white pebbles and shells...

A coat of varnish to protect the flag ...

I painted over a lampshade

After applying lots of colour and using stencils I began with the Bling!!

As usual I was a mess!!!

I added butterflies and glittered them...

This is the image I chose from
Sherri Baldy Stamps (my-Besties) 

I have used feathers and colours as per the Design seed board above
with a base of tissue paper and gesso Stencilling
 of which I then incorporated my coloured image to my project.

Embellishments were added to the tissue paper base
 and after sealed with a glue paste

Stencils were used with Gesso on both sides of the Project

The end project being a Tissue Box Holder in Mixed Media!
